Sherry Mallet, on her Visa/work email account, sent an e-mail full of lies to a homeowner.
Ms . Mallett apparently believes it's OK to make up "long-standing policies" on a whim. Even though such policy would have been illegal: California Civil Code ยง 1365.2 - Right To Inspect And Copy Association Records (which has since been recodified to California Civil Code §5200.)
Board presidents should read the actual law before claiming any documents are "beyond the scope of what the board has long determined to be subject to inspection."
Boards don't get to decide the law.
Boards don't get to have a “policy” of inspection rights. California law supersedes any such “policy.”
