What A Joke
December 3, 2010
The Edgewater Isle South board of directors, after having been taken to small claims court over this issue, announced the results of the voting on the earthquake insurance ballot.
This memo conveniently omits that the Association was taken to small claims court to force the vote. The Association was too lazy to hold a vote until compelled by the two small claims court cases (and the Association lost both, by the way).

40% of Edgewater Isle South Owners are Lazy
Apparently many homeowners at Edgewater Isle South are too self-involved to vote in the ballot measure. 40% of the homeowners don't care? They don't care that they have the highest dues on comparable condos, making units more difficult to sell? That, and the earthquake insurance the board of directors defends so much is a lousy piece of insurance. If there is a big earthquake, some of these homeowners are going to be waking up smelling some very foul coffee.
When homeowners attempt to make an effort and get your attention on how poorly this money is being spent, and 40% of you can't be bothered to vote, you deserve what you get. What a bunch of sloths.
